Build a Anti Gravity Glass! Nano Girl - Summer Learning Journey Day 20.

Today for our first activity we had to make a Anti Gravity glass! I enjoyed this activity a lot because it was really fun to do and I was very surprised when the card actually stuck to the brim of the cup, I found nothing hard because it a very simple task to do. I also learnt a lot more about gravity, I have also made a google drawing including the photo, why the card stuck onto the cup nicely and a couple of facts about gravity and what it is.

The first people to actually step foot on the Moon was Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin, here is a video of the landing if you haven't checked it out! Click Here. I find astronomy very interesting and fun to learn about because it's good to learn about and it's just fun in general! Gravity is also fun to learn because their are just many facts about Gravity that you can look at on the internet.

Here is my google drawing with some facts about Gravity and The Force:

Laughing Owl Report.

For the past week my class had been learning to write reports.

Our class decided on doing animals that were extinct.

I found nothing hard because the Owl was easy to be researched because it has so much information about it.

Laughing Owl

Description, Classification: The Laughing Owl known as Whekau (Maori name.) went extinct in 1914, it’s a white faced owl with yellow and brown looking stripes in their feathers and fur. They were known to be as big as a Morepork, adult ones used to be different shades of brown only. Their classification was Sceloglaux.

Habitats: The Laughing Owls likes to roam around in the open country, maybe because it might be easy to find their food or prey. The owls were also found in forested areas, that might be because that's where most insects and other different animals live.

Diet: They usually eat beetles, weta’s, birds and geckos more than 250g and rats and mice, they liked to eat insects or different types of birds.

Threats: Their predators were the reason they went extinct, mostly humans came hunting for them. Most of the Laughing Owl predators were wild mammals.

Dynamic fact: Their breeding season is mostly in October but sometimes in September.

Learning how to recraft Reports.

This week we were learning how to write reports.
We got a level  3 piece of writing/report about Lions and it got jumbled up so we got a partner and rearranged the paragraphs in what we thought sounded right. Once we finished, our teacher told us about adding the classification, description, habitat and the dynamic fact! "Dynamic fact" means a fact that doesn't fit anywhere, it's just a random fact. Habitat, means a place where the animal lives or comes from. The description is how it looks like and what it is and the features. Classification is like the family on what the type of Lion is called. We learnt that each paragraph should be only for 1 topic, Me and my buddy know what we did wrong which was not really stuck to one topic each paragraph. I found it easy to make our own paragraphs without knowing that we had to do one topic on each paragraph.

Dragonfly Drawing and FACTS.

This week i was learning how to get better at drawing on google drawings and today i had tried my best to make a dragonfly from a story.

I enjoyed trying my best and i kinda liked how it looked like in the end.

I found it challenging to actually trace a cartoon dragonfly cause on a chromebook it's hard using the big bar where you click.

My digital learning object shows that i can draw on google drawings by myself.

Next time i would change what i drew and add more detail and maybe next time i could try and use shapes and make it look 3D.

Facts about dragonflies:
1. Dragonflies don't sting and don't generally bite people.
2. Dragonflies have been around for 300 million years.
3. People in Indonesia like to eat them as a snack.
4. People say having a dragonfly on your head considers good luck.
5. Dragonflies livie throughout the world. They like to live in warm climates and mostly near the water.

This my drawing of a dragonfly.
