Kaitiakitanga Learning Focus.

For the past few weeks, we have been working on being a good Kaitiakitanga, which means guardianship. We've been working on some inquiry slides which we were asked to make, our main topic is: Everything to know about being Eco Friendly! Being a good Kaitiakitanga is important to people and the earth. Not everyone understands what one piece of plastic does to the environment and how pollution can affect people as well.

So we made it our mission to spread the word and inform people on how the earth is taking this rubbish. Part of our project, we made a website so people worldwide could check it out and understand the damage we are bringing to the world.

In this website we have added some eco friendly alternatives that people can buy so they can replace the plastic ones, some facts about pollution, some quotes about the earth and even a video which makes you realise how much the earth is suffering.

Why you shouldn't be Polluting - Speech 2020.

For some weeks we have been practicing for our speech that is next week on Monday, I wrote about pollution because pollution is an easy topic because you can find out many reasons why it's not good to be leaving rubbish since mainly everyone does it.

I found nothing hard besides from adding more emotive language since when you start writing and get carried away.

I found choosing my topic and writing my "Thirdly" paragraph easy.

Doing a speech on pollution is pretty easy because it's easy to find lots of information about pollution and why it's bad for the sea, marine life or even us.

Listen to my speech here.

My Waste Aoeteroa Poster - Never refuse to reuse!

Today we were learning about enviroschools and about how to reduce, reuse, recycle and repurpose.
I enjoyed making this cause I feel it actually encourages people to do it and some people might while seeing this.
I found it challenging to find good slogans to persuade people to think that "Ah yes, thats a good example I might start reusing now!"
My digital learning object shows we are an enviroschools and I can make a poster all about Reusing.
Next time I would change the topic, Like not on all of them but just on one, example: recycling or reducing.
