Today for our 1st activity we got to do art but with fruit and vegetables! I choose to do mine on my chromebook because them I'd have access to more fruits I might've not had at home. The person who created this type of art was.. Giuseppe Arcimboldo, he was an Italian painter and loved doing art with stuff you find outside, books, fruit and vegetables.
I learnt that doing art with something other than paper and colours can turn into a masterpiece as well. What I used for my art was a watermelon for the head, blueberries for the nose and eyes, half a lemon for the ears, cherries for the earrings, lettuce for the hair and a banana for the smile!
I've also included a couple of facts about the painter in my google drawing, here is the art that I made:
Mōrena Manvi,
ReplyDeleteFiona here from the SLJ. Excellent work creating a fruit and vegetable inspired piece of art using digital tools! I think Ms. Watermelon looks fabulous with cherry earrings, funky lettuce hair and a big banana grin! I bet this was a lot of fun to make.
Did you have fun completing this activity and learning about the Italian artist Giuseppe Arcimboldo? I thought he was such an interesting artist and very clever to create such detailed paintings.
Keep up the great learning and blogging over the summer.
Ngā mihi nui,
Fiona (SLJ).
Kia Ora Fiona,
DeleteThank you for commenting on my blog.
I had so much fun creating Ms. Watermelon!
I loved learning about Giuseppe Arcimboldo because his art style was very unique and creative.
Who is your favourite painter/artist?
Ma Te Wa,
Manvi.
Kia ora Manvi,
ReplyDeleteThanks for your reply! You are so correct, Giuseppe Arcimboldo was very unique and creative.
You have asked me a good question. An artist that I think is absolutely amazing is Michelangelo - another Italian artist, famous for painting and sculpting. Have you heard of him? He painted the ceiling of the Sistine Chapel in the Vatican city, as well as many other famous works of art.
Looking forward to seeing your blogs next week!
Ka kite anō,
Fiona
