Explore Equipment! - Summer Learning Journey Day 1

Today for our first Summer Learning Journey activity, we had to go around our house to try and find old things to use to turn into something like superpowers or magic but I made some origami paper sword and a axe by using my old coloured paper.

Here are the links so you can make your own as well! Click here. & Here.

Equipment:

Coloured paper

Scissors

Glue

A4 paper.

I hadn't found anything hard but my first plan was to make a ninja star but I couldn't so I found some really cool swords on youtube and decided to make them.

Here is a photo:

  1. Kia Ora Manvi,

My name is Zana and I am a blog commenter from the Summer Learning Journey, it is awesome to see your first post of the summer and I look forward to seeing more as you continue blogging! Your origami looks amazing, it is really helpful that you included an instruction link so everyone who views your post can try making them as well, I have tried making ninja stars before and also found them very difficult but having an adult help with all the folding makes it a lot easier!. Although you have definitely made some superhero crafts, have you also started collecting stuff from around the house to use in the next Nano Girl experiments? I might suggests having another look at the Nano Girl post so you can see all the items you might want to start compiling.

Keep up the great work and I hope to see more of your posts over the summer.

    Ngā mihi nui,
    Zana Yates

    1. Kia ora Zana,
Thank you for commenting on my blog.
I agree, ninja stars are very difficult without some adult help. I will surely try to use the stuff that nano girl had recommended and post it on my blog. Did you get a chance to make the origami sword or axe?

I had a go at making the sword but unfortunately I have no cellotape so it fell apart! I am definitely going to try make the ninja stars and I will let you know how that goes!

      Thank you,

its great to see that you have made a start to your Summer Learning Journey. I watched the Nano Girl's video and I can't wait to see what you will be making with the equipment. I think Zana had a good suggestion to watch it in full and collect the items ready for next week.
Are any of your friends doing the Summer Learning Journey too? Remember that you can score extra points by commenting on their blogs.
