I have been reading a book called Huia Come Home.
It has a whakataukī in it:
Huia e huia, tangata kotahi!
Huia, your destiny is to bring everyone together!
I think it about bringing people in New Zealand back together, especially Māori and Pākeha people.

ReplyDeleteHone Heke was definitely a brave man, and did a lot for the rights of his people. I really like the line you chose, ‘Never underestimate the intelligence of these people’, these are pretty smart words to live by!
