UV/ Ultraviolet Indicator - Summer Learning Journey Day 11.

Today we learnt about a UV Indicator. A UV INdicator is basically a chart called "Ultraviolet". It tells you if you need to protect yourself from the sun today, I made my own Ultraviolet chart for me to hang up at my house. I was thinking placing it in the living room since everyone can see it, a Ultraviolet chart can save you from either getting a sun allergy, cancer or sunburns.

These are the 5 different levels:

1. Low: Low means your all good and you don't really need anything to protect.

2. Medium: Either sunglasses or a hat.

3. High: Sunglasses,hat and sunscreen.

4. Very High: Sunglasses, hat, and sunscreen, stay away from the sun.

5. Extreme: Stay home.

Here is my google drawing that I made:

  1. Kia Ora Manvi,

My name is Zana and I am a blog commenter from the Summer Learning Journey.

This activity is awesome as it spreads awareness of how bad UV rays can be and how important it is to keep sun safe and sun smart by wearing sunscreen, wearing your hat and keeping in the shade.

Your UV indicator looks awesome, it is clear to read and understand with the color coding, numbers and symbols and adding the slidable arrow is a great touch, good job.

Did you have a look at the step it up activity, you can design a wearable UV device with a Kiwiana theme like a sort of sunblock reapply reminder or a UV detecting hat. It would be great to see you have a go at designing your own.

Happy Holidays, Keep up the great work and I hope to see more of your posts over the summer.

    Ngā mihi nui,
    Zana Yates

Thank you for commenting on my blog.
I will definitely try to make a wearable UV design when I can and post it on my blog. Have you seen a UV Indicator before?
