Float your Boat - Summer Learning Journey Day 18.

Today for our first activity we had to make 3 paper boats but I could only make 2 but I still enjoyed doing this activity. We had to see if it floated, and if we could place rocks on them to see how many we could put on before it sank. Here are the Links to the Videos here so you can check it out and make your own boats!

Square End Boat.

Canoe Boat.

Normal Paper Boat.

All you needed for this activity was water/a jug full of water, paper and just some small stones! I enjoyed this activity because it was fun to make because I love to do crafting and origami is fun by itself in general. I found nothing hard in this activity except attempting to do the 3rd boat because it was really hard.

The boat that won for me was the canoe boat, I thought it might not float at first because it was tilted to a side but as I began to put rocks inside of it it straightened up!

Here are my google slides for today's activity:

  1. Kia Ora Manvi,

Awesome blogging you have been doing over the summer, keep it up e hoa!

What a fun and interesting activity this is. Have you done any paper mache before? I think you have created a well informed google slides with us on your blog about your experience with this activity. 13 rocks for the canoe boat wow that is impressive, did you add another to make it 14 and see what would happen?

I look forward to hearing more about this activity.

    1. Kia Ora Kiana,
Thank you for commenting on my blog.
No I have not done a paper mache but I will definitely try it and check it out. No I didn't add another one to make 14 because I saw it starting to sink so I quickly took a picture! Have you ever done/played something similar?

    2. Kia Ora Manvi, good to hear back from you.

That is awesome you tried to add another and lucky you did get a picture before it sunk.

When I was in primary school our class made paper boats and we took them down to the pools to test them and see which one would last the longest and float the longest in the water.

I hope you have a great weekend. Catch up with you on the activities next week e hoa!
