Rēhua (Antares) Poster - Summer Learning Journey Day 19.

Today for our last activity we had to read a google slide about the history of Rēhua. I enjoyed doing this because it was really fun to learn and very historic! I found nothing tricky except reading some of the Maori because I am not fluent in Maori, do you speak Maori? How often do you speak Maori? I learnt a lot of things about Rehua and Antares and it's very interesting and I definitely recommend you try and check it out too!

Here is my google drawing poster of Rehua and the information you may be looking for!

  1. Kia ora Manvi,
I learnt lots form your blog post! I like the way you designed your poster using colours that go with the concept of of the red super giant in the sky.
Are you enjoying the summer sun? Have you been swimming or doing anything fun outside? I have been swimming at Waikanae Beach and enjoying it lots.

  2. Kia Ora Manvi,

My name is Zana and I am a blog commenter from the Summer Learning Journey.

I really enjoy these Te Reo Māori activities as I think it is important for everyone to learn and practice this language and learn about the culture. I especially liked this activity because it was about the stars and I love astronomy and the Māori interpretations of the stars.

I think you did an awesome job structure this post, it was very informative and I am happy to hear you enjoyed this activity and learnt something new. You can see Rēhua at the moment in the Scorpius constellation when the night sky is clear. Maybe when you get a chance you can go stargazing and try and spot them.

I usually do a lot of stargaving over summer as that is when you can see a lot of constellations in New Zealand but I live in a city now so it is a bit harder to see the stars.

Happy Holidays, Keep up the great work and I hope to see more of your posts over the summer.

    Ngā mihi nui,
    Zana Yates

I also love learning about the stars or astronomy! What do you know about astronomy so far? What I learnt just now is that Astronomy uses mathematics, physics and chemistry to explain their origin of evolution! Stargazing sounds extremely fun to do, I will definitely have a go! What type of stars have you seen? Did you get the luck to see some shooting stars?
      Ma Te Wa,
      Manvi.
